As 2024 draws to a close, we are delighted to reflect on a year of growth and achievement for AA2A. Here are some highlights of what we’ve accomplished together:
Record Demand for Residency Places
This year, we’ve seen an unprecedented level of interest in our residency programme. Artists across the UK have continued to recognise the unique opportunities AA2A offers, resulting in many applications and placements for 2024/5. We are thrilled to support so many talented individuals in developing their creative practices.
We are working hard to build relationships with new HE and FE institutions to further expand this offering for our next intake in Sept-Oct 2025.
Supporting Artists Through the Artist Support Fund
Thanks to generous contributions and ongoing funding from Arts Council England and commitment to the programme by our host organisations, our Artist Support Fund was increased by 20% this year and has provided financial assistance to artists during their residency. This initiative has helped emerging and established artists alike access resources and opportunities they might otherwise have struggled to afford, reinforcing our commitment to diversity, and inclusion in the arts.
Introducing the Student Ambassador Programme
In 2024, we launched our brand-new Student Ambassador Programme, creating a dynamic link between AA2A and student communities. This initiative has been instrumental in promoting AA2A’s values and programmes within higher and further education institutions while offering ambassadors invaluable experience in advocacy and professional practice development.
Talks and Creative Futures Seminars
Building on the success of our new Creative Futures in-person talks and seminars our new series begins early next year. Keep an eye out for invitations to attend our online talks with expert industry panellists giving you insight and tips on funding to marketing and more.
As we look ahead to 2025, we are excited to build on this momentum and continue championing artists and creativity. To everyone who has been part of our journey this year—thank you for your support, enthusiasm, and dedication. Here’s to another year of inspiration and success!
Wishing you a joyful festive season and a very Happy New Year!
